Another tale
I'm going to need more tales to cut out! I don't have a plan for the next tales cutting. I'm enjoying reading fairy and folk tales for inspiration. I'm also visiting the local park and taking pictures of birds; I'm thinking a waterfowl series might be next. Or trees. Or... I don't know, but I'm delighted that there are so many things that can become paper cuttings!
Neither this or the Rapunzel cutting have been glued, so I'll post the final products another time; I'm just so delighted at how this turned out that I have to share! The angles look wonky because nothing's lying quite flat yet; the glue will help, but I'm out of background paper, so it'll have to wait.
This cutting took three drafts. On the first one, the connections between letters were far too thin, and they all fell apart. In the second version, a few were still too thin, and other parts of the design shredded under the knife. I cut the final version out of my new Canson Mi-Teintes paper, and it came out beautifully. I'd been looking for a new paper to work with for a while, and I might have found it.
